The Health Insurance Fund reimburses the following dental services:
- Treatment of insured children up to 19 years old. Visit fee: €5.
- From January 1, 2018, all insured adults are entitled to a dental care reimbursement of up to €40 per year, with the patient covering at least 50% of the treatment bill.
- From January 1, 2018, pregnant women and mothers of children under one year receive up to €85 per year, with the patient covering at least 15% of the treatment bill.
- From July 1, old-age pensioners, disability pensioners, people with partial or full work incapacity, and people over 63 years receive up to €85 per calendar year. The patient must cover at least 15% of the treatment bill.
- For disability and old-age pensioners, the cost of dental prostheses is reimbursed once every three years up to €260.
Reimbursement is available only for services included in the basic dental care package.
Basic dental services include:
- initial or follow-up dentist visit
- diagnostics (including X-rays)
- medication and temporary fillings
- permanent fillings
- tooth extraction
- abscess incision and treatment
- root canal treatment
- surgical removal of subgingival tartar
- anesthesia
